Nearly Nearly Invisible
Saint Genet in collaboration with Trench Art Records, and New Mystics will transform the NORD alleyway in Pioneer Square through a four day series of visual art, performance, and music based interventions. Nearly Nearly Invisible is the second in a series of satellite projects, conceived by director Derrick Ryan Claude Mitchell, that proceed and orbit the epic new opera Paradisiacal Rites premiering at On the Boards.
Nearly Nearly Invisible will feature extended musical and DJ sets booked by Trench Art Records. Each day features a different artist or group, including Cory Brewer (Triumph of Lethargy Skinned Alive to Death and Cold Lake), and a super group collaboration between Monogamy Party & MTNS, among others. The intervention features artwork by Steven Miller and members of the New Mystics including NKO, No Touching Ground, EGO, and Japhy Witte (Sign Savant). These musical and installed interventions are inspired by imagery and music from the internationally acclaimed performance Paradisiacal Rites. Musical performances beginning at 1pm. Hospitality provided by Back Alley Bikes.
Nearly Nearly Invisible coincides with an extended procession beginning at dawn, from a secret location where Saint Genet’s director Derrick Ryan Claude Mitchell will perform and re-perform new ritual acts of transgression. Invitation and word of mouth only. Time: DAWN
Following the NORD alley intervention Nearly Nearly Invisible, the Saint Genet procession will continue to On the Boards for the ass-kicking performance Paradisiacal Rites. Tickets and info at ontheboards.org.
